The Rabbit Habit is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, dedicated to the rescue of domestic rabbits in the Philadelphia area. When unwanted, neglected, and abandoned pet rabbits come into foster care with our organization, they receive medical attention, spays or neuters, and loving care until permanent homes can be found. Our goals are as follows:
The Rabbit Habit believes that all domestic rabbits have individual value. The welfare of all domestic rabbits is our utmost concern.
It is the responsibility of humans to care for the needs of rabbits. It is in the best interest of domestic rabbits to be neutered/spayed, to live in human housing where supervision and protection are provided, and to be treated for illnesses by veterinarians.
Domestic rabbits are companion animals are should be given the same individual rights and level of care that is commonly given to cats and dogs who live as companion animals.
Domestic rabbits are intelligent, social animals in need of mental stimulation, toys, exercise, environmental activity, and social interaction.
